1. Limit washing and wipe off dirt
There's no need to wash your Ducksday outdoor clothing after every adventure. Often, it's enough to let the clothing dry and then simply wipe it down with a damp cloth. This extends the lifespan of your gear and reduces your water and energy usage.
2. Always check the care label
Does your clothing need a machine wash? Always check the care label inside the garment first. Labels removed? No worries—care instructions are also available on the product pages of our website.
3. Wash the clothing in the machine
Ducksday’s waterproof clothing is designed to keep your kids dry and comfortable. To preserve its functionality, follow these steps:
- Wash inside out: Close all zippers and Velcro fasteners, and turn the clothing inside out. This protects the water-repellent layer.
- Wash separately at 30°C: Wash the clothing separately the first time. Use a mild program at a maximum temperature of 30°C, without fabric softener. If your washing machine has an "outdoor" setting, we recommend using it.
- Air dry: Hang the clothing to dry. Do not tumble dry or iron, as heat can damage the waterproof coating.
4. Re-impregnate to maintain waterproofing
Since detergents can affect the water-repellent layer, we recommend re-impregnating the clothing after 3-4 washes. Use a spray or wash-in waterproofing product. We collaborate with Organotex Wash-In Textile Waterproofing, as it is an eco-friendly and high-quality product. This ensures your Ducksday item retains its breathable and protective properties, lasting for years! Be sure to read the care instructions for this product on our website or on the bottle.
With proper care, Ducksday outdoor clothing stays beautiful and functional for longer. By washing less frequently and re-impregnating after a few washes, you’ll ensure your child is always well-protected and comfortable, ready for any adventure!
